Where is the job fair?

The job fair and the resume workshop are hosted by the Harry Stone Recreation Center, 2403 Millmar Dr. in Dallas, Texas. The Harry Stone Recreation Center is in Northeast Dallas off of Ferguson and Millmar. If you are downtown Dallas, go east on 30 and then north on Ferguson. In about 10 minutes, you will cross over Oates. The stop light after Oates is Millmar. Turn right on Millmar and the recreation center will be on your left.

What should I bring?

  • You should bring your BEST SELF. That means dress appropriately to make a good first impression on your new potential employer. Employers would say, "dress to impress."

  • Attend the résumé & interview workshop on April 18th to learn more about what to expect at a job fair. We will have people to give you a practice interview and review your resume.

  • Some employers also ask that you go to their websites and fill out their application beforehand. Other employers may have applications you can fill out at the job fair.

  • Other items that some employers may request: résumé, cover letter, references, and identification.

  • If you register as a job seeker on this website (click the registration tab and provide a working email), we will send you the complete list of employers and the items that they request you to bring to the job fair.

Where do I park?

The Recreation Center has a parking lot in the front and the back of the facility, but this fills up very quickly. Overflow parking is available on the street and in the nearby church parking lots. We are expecting more than 1,000 people, so please plan accordingly. Please do not block the driveways of the adjacent homes.

Will you have background friendly employers?

We understand that there are a lot of challenges to finding employment when you have something on your record. As a result, we made a special effort to find second chance employers that are background friendly. About 25% of our employers commit to evaluate each candidate on a case by case basis. You will know which employers will evaluate candidates on a case by case basis because they will have a gold star at their table.
